Cross Country Challenge
Missouri's Aaron Dixon nears the finish line of the Missouri Cross Country Challenge at A.L. Gustin Golf Course.
After shooting the entire race from the back of a golf cart with either a 400mm or 70-200mm lens, I really wanted to try and get something different instead of frenetically trying to compose clean shots of every single runner for our archives. I skipped out on the last loop and hung out at the finish waiting for runners to cross. The wind was whipping the flags lining the course, so I tried to layer those into the frame as well. I got down really low to the ground for a better perspective to make the runners appear taller as they came by and stand out better from the background.
